The Rewards of Perserverance: A Success Story

As a broker, you don’t always know where you’ll meet your next client. I happened to meet this lovely couple at an open house that I was hosting. The property itself ended up not being the right fit for them, but we had a great chat and hit it off. A few months later they reached out to me to see if I would be available to help them not only purchase a new home but also sell their current home as well. I was super excited to work with them and help them achieve their goal of finding a larger house for their growing family.

We limited our search to Montpelier, and saw a few promising houses initially, but nothing felt right. Finally we found the perfect place, and put in a well-planned and competitive offer. Everything was proceeding smoothly. Our offer was accepted and the house went under contract.

Unfortunately, during the inspection of the property, there were foundational issues that were discovered. This would prevent financing for the property.

My clients were not deterred! After combing through all of their options, we negotiated a price reduction for repairs, hired field experts, and secured a quote. This allowed us to close on the property without any further hitch.

The next step was selling their beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Montpelier home. I hired a professional photographer who took some amazing photos of the property, and worked on marketing to find the buyer who would call this place their home. It took longer than we expected to sell their home, but we were not discouraged. We remained patient and had 1 price drop. After extensive searching, targeted marketing, and networking with my team, I was able to help locate a buyer whom I referred to my GLRE colleague Bailey. Before long we were under contract and closing. All sides were happy, and I was really pleased that I could help my clients transition into this next wonderful chapter of their life.

Here’s what my clients had to say about working with me!

"We had a great experience with Jake at Green Light. He was a very useful guide through the logistics of both buying a new house and selling our old one. Most important, though, was that he was an excellent coach...very supportive and encouraging throughout the entire process, keeping stress and complexity at a manageable level. What is more, the rest of the Green Light team were ready to help, and also offered great efficiency and steadiness."

Who do you know who’s thinking of selling? Someone selling this summer? This coming fall? Sometime within the next year?

Have them be part of the Green Light Real Estate vision, which is to make buying and selling real estate easy by being the most loved and most professional real estate brokerage in Vermont.
