Northfield and Norwich University

Northfield is home to Norwich University (the oldest private military college in the United States). Norwich attracts students, staff, and faculty from around the country and around the world, which gives this small town more diversity and a more cosmopolitan feel than you might expect.

 

Norwich also provides fantastic opportunities for entertainment and recreation. The mens’ and womens’ hockey teams are perennial national powerhouses, having won league and national championships. And Northfield comes out in force to support the Cadets. Want to see all your friends in one place? Head to Kreitzberg Arena on a Friday in January or February!

 

It's also fun to be able to watch sports that you wouldn’t normally see on television. Bring your crew to watch rugby, tennis, soccer, and even the drill team.

 

The Paine Mountain Recreation Center is renowned for its top notch mountain bike trails. The trails are used by hikers, runners, even the high school cross country and track teams.
